I am not talking business management or people management here, but SELF-MANAGEMENT!
Here’s a thought:
You cannot respect another until you respect yourself. Agree? OK, here’s another:
You cannot love another until you love yourself. Agree? Some won’t agree with this statement. Try this one:
You cannot parent a child until you can parent yourself. Parents will understand this. So what about business? Here we go:
You cannot manage a team until you can manage yourself. What do you think? If you are lacking in self belief and self confidence, how do you think you will manage a team?

Ok, so it’s not really a word, but it comes from dedication, with a TED spin-off. We get our inspiration from many sources: books, DVDs, TED Videos, colleagues, celebrities, our customers. However, most importantly is that we inspire ourselves. Without self-inspiration, everything else is just influence. And if you strip away everyone and everything, would you feel comfortable enough in your own skin, running your business?

Get talking, get into the conversation. Why is Social Media so important for your business? Simply because:
- It is another way to communicate your message
- It is another medium to use to connect with your customers
- It is another medium to use to connect with future customers
- It is evolving into a sophisticated online communications protocol
If you do not get involved now, you will struggle to understand the next phase of the Web – the Semantic Web.
That’s not to say that every business type will benefit from Social Media, but not only is it an excellent tool for B2C (Business to Customer) but also growing in popularity for B2B (Business to Business).

This very simple message was missed by many during the boom decade of 1996–2006. Those in business must realise the importance of vision, enthusiasm and planning.

Hi there – Welcome to Seefin Coaching’s TOP 10 Christmas Tips for the survival of your business (and you!)
This time we are going to count down (up) to Christmas with our great series of TOP 10 tips for getting your business ready for the 2010 wind-down.
We are running with the theme of C.H.R.I.S.T.M.A.S for this year.
So here we go – going to kick off first with:
TIP NO 1:
C ~ CHARITY begins at home, and with your business. It’s so important at this time of year to look after yourself, your health, and your business. Ensure to plan “gaps” into your weekly/daily diary instead of the opposite “cramming as much as you can into year-end”.
It’s also a good time to think about transferring certain tasks to earlier in the year when planning for 2011, to ensure you do not end up with a jam-packed December with no chance to “wrap-up” successfully. Especially if you are traditionally busy in the winter months leading up to year-end. Often, summer can be very quiet for certain types of businesses, and this is a great time to get the business “chores” out of the way.

Authenticity – Be yourself
If you are anybody else as you are pitching for contracts, selling your wares, communicating a message, or asking to be paid, then you are not yourself! The only person that has control over how you portray yourself and your business is you. Originality, authenticity, individuality is the one thing that can separate you from your competitors, so why try and BE like someone else, or another business? The business world doesn’t need a clone of companies to choose from, they need that something special that only the business owner can provide.

I awake. I open my eyes and just for a moment think I am still in my dream. All I see is a beautiful blue sky with fluffy clouds… oh yes, and the 3 contrails of airplanes criss-crossing each other from left to right.
I then realise I am not in my dream but in my bed, awakening to the view directly above me through my Velux window. The air is clear and quiet. So much so that I could hear the rumble of one of the jet planes.

Last year I had no problem with my fitness programme. I was getting married and had plenty of motivation to drive my goals. I achieved all my fitness goals without problem, and needless to say, also lost the obligatory 2-3 kilos on the day itself (I still haven’t figured out how or why that happens to brides, but I was very grateful for it!)

I am sitting in Amsterdam Airport at 6am, or was it 5am? Well it was 10am where I was coming from, so needless to say, I was a little disorientated. Armed with a strong coffee and a muffin, I began to do some work. Something caught my attention. It sounded like a bird, could there be a bird in Schiphol airport? Did it get trapped?
Sure enough, as I squinted up, there was a Sparrow sitting high above me (I was a little concerned about my exposed coffee, keyboard, open mouth and muffin, so closed my mouth). The sparrow swooped down just as a family left a table in the restaurant, much to the delight of others sitting nearby, a welcome distraction after their overnight flights and disturbed sleep.
