Coaching for Your Organisation
As a Business Coach, I work closely with small Business owners and Managers of SMEs.
As a Business owner myself, I have previously struggled to keep good time management, not work beyond my set hours, and not be tempted to get involved in personal tasks while supposedly “working from home”.
When I was a Contract Trainer for many years, working from home, people would ask me am I working today? If I was not Training on-site, I would say “Yes, I am working at home (in the office)”. This was interpreted as a non-working day as I was not away from the house. However, the nature of my work required work days at home to catch up with admin and accounts, preparation for training courses, course design, and of course the inevitable catching up on phone calls and e-mails.
So on a scale of 1-10, how hard is it for you to self-delegate and motivate?
If this figure is over 3, then you may not be utilising your time efficiently and productively.
Another thought to keep in mind is that work life is never separate from personal life for the business owner. The trick is to manage both together effectively.
A Business Coach can help tremendously here to assist in prioritising and really making time for the more important things in life.
